David Wrightson, an architecture student, travelled only once to Malta in October 1964 to capture architectural photographs under the guidance of the late Professor Quentin Hughes OBE for the publication Fortress Malta. His negatives were rediscovered and repatriated to Malta by the Malta Institute of Professional Photography (MIPA) in 2020, leading to the publication of Malta Through the Lens – David Wrightson in 2024. Although David Wrightson passed away before the book’s release, his legacy lives on through this remarkable visual documentation, commemorating sixty years since his visit to Malta.
