About
Born in Belgium, Patrick Vanderhaegen—known artistically as Sharp—studied photography at Brussels’ renowned NARAFI-INRACI in the late 1970s. His professional journey spanned over 45 years in the international show business world, yet throughout, he remained deeply engaged with photography and digital visual technology.
A decade ago, he encountered the compelling beauty of the Maltese archipelago—storied islands where history and landscape intertwine. From Neolithic temples to baroque churches, and from rugged cliffs to quiet inland valleys, his photography traces a personal path through culture, season, and shifting Mediterranean light.
Now retired, Patrick devotes his time to capturing the landscapes and traditions of Gozo and Malta. His ongoing work explores the subtle transitions brought on by time, weather, and light—building a personal archive that documents the visual rhythms of these ever-evolving islands.
