A powerful wave breaks against the base of the iconic Azure Window in Dwejra, Gozo. The natural limestone arch towers above the churning, turquoise-blue sea as foamy surf surges over the surrounding rocks. Under a partly cloudy sky, the dramatic energy of the sea contrasts with the rugged beauty of the coastal landscape. Once one of Gozo’s most famous landmarks, this natural wonder stood proudly before collapsing in 2017.
