The imposing entrance of the Cathedral of the Assumption in the Citadel is framed by grand baroque architecture and a flight of wide stone steps leading to the main door. Two statues of religious figures, standing on pedestals add a solemn presence to the scene. On the left a stained-glass artwork depicting a religious scene is placed near the entrance. The cathedral remains a symbol of Gozo’s rich religious heritage and a focal point of the fortified city.
