Qolla l-Bajda Battery

Qolla l-Bajda Battery

A striking view of Qolla l-Bajda Battery, a historic coastal fortification near Marsalforn, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Built by the Knights of St John in the early 18th century, the battery was designed to defend Gozo’s northern coast. The structure stands on a rocky outcrop surrounded by traditional salt pans, which reflect the island’s long-standing salt-harvesting tradition.
