Ġgantija's perimeter wall

A striking view of the massive perimeter wall of the Ġgantija Temples in Xagħra. Composed of enormous limestone blocks, some weighing several tonnes, this structure is one of the oldest known free-standing monuments in the world, dating back over 5,500 years. The carefully stacked megaliths, weathered by time, remain a testament to the advanced construction skills of the temple builders.
