Door with stone counter

This weathered wooden door, situated at what was once 22 Triq is-Suq (now Pjazza San Gorg), features a unique stone counter below the archway. Used during outbreaks of cholera and plague, the counter served as a sanitary measure for the safe exchange of goods and communication, reflecting the ingenuity of the time. The aged wood and surrounding plaster bear marks of history, evoking the resilience of the local community in the face of adversity.
