The Banca Giuratale in Gozo is a historic Baroque-style building located in Victoria, the island’s capital. Built in the 18th century during the rule of the Order of St. John, it originally served as the seat of the Università, Gozo’s local government. The building played a significant role in the island’s administration and judiciary, housing the municipal council and law courts. Today, it serves as the seat for The Culture Unit within the Directorate of Cultural Heritage within the Ministry for Gozo & Planning, as well as the Victoria Local Council. The Banca Giuratale has been restored and now also functions as an exhibition space. Its elegant architecture and historical importance make it a prominent landmark in Gozo’s rich heritage.
